Online Entrance Examination M.Sc. – I (2021-22) Physics / Organic Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics

Entrance Examination ; The students desirous to take admission for M.Sc. Part-I of all above mentioned subjects at MES Abasaheb Garware College, Pune, both from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and other universities must appear for the Entrance Examination.

Intake Capacity: 

   1. 24 Seats Organic Chemistry and Microbiology – Aided

   2. 24 Seats Physics, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Mathematics - Unaided

10% seats of the total intake capacity are reserved for the students from other universities.

Online Registration starts : July 10, 2021

Duration of Exam

Online Entrance Examination consists of single paper of 60 minutes duration.

Entrance Exam Time

Examination portal will be opened between 11.00 am and 1.00 pm on the Examination day. The exam schedule will end at 1.00 pm so candidate need to login before 60 minutes for the exam to get full time

Entrance Exam Type

Online AI Proctor monitored with Live Video and Audio Streaming. Scientific calculator and plain paper are allowed

Pattern of Exam

• Exam consists of single paper that contains 50 multiple choice compulsory questions, out of which only one answer is correct. Maximum marks for this exam are 100.
• The Candidate has to tick on the correct alternative.
• There will be Negative Marking. Evaluation scheme is as follows:

1. For each correct answer, candidate will get +2 marks for that question.
2. For each wrong answer, candidate will get -1 mark for that question
3. For each of not attempted question, candidate will get ZERO mark for that question.

• There will be NO separate Entrance exam for Organic and Analytical Chemistry
• The examination is based on S.Y.B.Sc. (2014 Pattern) and T.Y.B.Sc. (2015 Pattern) curriculum of SPPU with core courses only for respective subjects except Biotechnology.
• The examination is based on 2013 pattern of SPPU for Biotechnology.

Eligibility Criteria:

• B.Sc. (Out of 1200); Students have to provide Sem VI marks after their result for all subjects except Biotechnology

• For students of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU): B.Sc. in respective subject as Principal subject for PG in respective subject
• For students from other than SPPU with General B.Sc.: One of the subjects should be respective subject at T.Y.B.Sc. level for PG in respective subject
• Biotechnology - Minimum 55% marks (out of 2000) at B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. (Blended), B.Sc. (Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) (50% marks for reserved category)

Admission Criteria:

1. Admissions will be based on the merit list prepared by giving 50% weightage to marks at B.Sc. (1200 for all subjects except Biotechnology; 2000 for Biotechnology) and 50% weightage to the marks obtained in Entrance exam
2. If students secure identical marks in the entrance examination then:

• Preference in the merit will be given on the basis of T.Y.B.Sc. (Semester V and VI - Principal Total) marks
•  If marks are still identical then S.Y.B.Sc. marks (Semester I and II) of Principal subject will be considered for the merit list ranking.

3.The candidates from other universities, only Entrance exam marks will be considered

4. Reservations will be applicable as per rules of Maharashtra Government and SPPU.

5.Any vacancy available after the completion of admission rounds then college will admit other candidates as per the rules.
